Software QA Engineer

Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Venezuela

WebCreek is now hiring a Software QA Engineer who specializes in software quality testing. This is a 100% remote position.

What You'll Do

The Software QA Engineer will provide application test planning, automated test authoring, manual test execution, defect tracking, and test documentation. In addition, this individual will assist in application documentation and support activities as well as participate in many aspects of the software development life cycle including product improvement initiatives.

Build application software test plans

  • Review software requirements and design documents to ensure quality documentation and understand functional and technical application objectives
  • Work with designers and software engineers to fully understand software functionality from a user, system, and support perspective
  • Develop test plans to verify the functionality of new releases
  • Develop regression checklists to ensure updates are fully functional and defect free
  • Maintain test plan versions using test case management software
  • Write automated test cases and perform required maintenance

Manage test plan execution and defect tracking

  • Coordinate test plan execution with other individuals
  • Maintain defect tracking system
  • Produce reports on detected defects including detailed descriptions, reproduction steps, priority, and status

Perform tests

  • Conduct manual and automated software quality and regression tests
  • Communicate test status (percent complete, defects/issues by priority)

Provide application support

  • Assist the support organization in reporting and following through on field report issues

Participate in the Agile development life cycle

  • Development and review of application requirements
  • Participate in stand-up and other meetings with development and quality teams
  • Review of technical and user interface designs
  • Provide suggestions on product improvements
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in computer science, a related science, or a technical field
  • Experience in software quality testing (test plans, automation)
  • Experience in Windows application testing and support
  • Experience in testing web applications
  • 2+ years of experience in software test strategy, test plan creation, maintenance, and execution
  • Hands-on experience in writing test automation using Selenium, JMeter, Ranorex, or closely related technologies
  • Working knowledge of one or more programming languages
  • Ability to write scripts and programs to facilitate automation and testing of the software
  • B2 to C2 English-speaking level
